Individuals from the LGBT community may feel marginalized and isolated. Not receiving the social support from their community, family or friends that they need may cause significant emotional and psychological distress. At Growing Space, all sessions are confidential and carried out in a non-judgmental environment when discussing your concerns, emotions and feelings.

 

Some of the issues commonly experienced by the LGBT community includes:

 

  • Stress/ distressing situations in the face of homophobic or hostile environment
  • Difficulties of ‘coming out’ to friends and family
  • Sex and relationship issues
  • Confusion about one’s sexual orientation
  • Living with HIV/AIDS
