Sandplay Therapy

Sandplay therapy is a powerful form of therapy  use with children and adults who has difficulties expressing themselves. Sandplay therapy gives clients a safe and non-judgmental space to express and work through non-verbalized emotional difficulties such as anger, depression, anxiety and trauma. We will provide specially proportioned sandbox and an extensive collection of figurines and a trained sandplay therapist that will guide and journey with the client as they experience change and healing.

Sandplay Therapy for Children

Many children are unable to verbalise emotional states, particularly after experiencing trauma, neglect, or abuse. The non-verbal nature of Sandplay Therapy can help children feel comfortable, relax and secure. The child is free to play and develop his or her own expression of situations using the familiar medium of sand and the miniatures provided. The scene created reflects the child’s life and allows them the opportunity to resolve conflicts or obstacles to move towards healing.

Sandplay Therapy for Adults

Sandplay therapy is a highly therapeutic and multidimensional form of therapy that can provide emotional release for an adult in therapy. Adults who have undergone trauma and show limited response to other types of therapy may respond well to Sandplay Therapy. By beginning to facilitate change on a symbolic level, a person can gain the courage and ability to recognise that these same changes can be made in his or her life and work towards lasting healing.
