Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

OCD is characterized by uncontrollable, unwanted thoughts as well as ritualized, repetitive behaviours that the individual performs to reduce the anxiety. With OCD, these thoughts and behaviours cause huge distress, take up a lot of time and interfere with daily life and relationships.

Some of the common obsessions may include thoughts being contaminated by germs, or that someone will be harmed because of your negligence. To reduce the anxiety caused by these thoughts, you feel compelled to perform rituals (compulsions) such as washing hands repeatedly or constant checking to ensure that everything is okay.

If you or your loved ones are experiencing any of the symptoms above, feel free to contact us for an appointment or for further consultation.
